Big Boy Bed... According to Logan

I absolutely love my crib.  If I had the choice, I would stay in it until I went off to college.  I am happy when I am in there and I have never tried to get out.  When I wake up, I simply yell, "Somebody come get me!"

I've been growing and I realized that I can do this! So, even though I didn't try to climb out, my parents realized that it is a good time to switch me to a big boy bed.  That's right.. a big. boy. bed!!
Mommy took me shopping to let me try out different mattresses.  I tried out a few different ones at a few different stores and I found one that I thought was extra comfy!

Then, I had to look for bedding.  As soon as I saw that this sports bedding had a football pillow with it, I knew it was the one for me! I grabbed it as soon as my Mommy told me that I could get it and I didn't let it go until we got out of the store.  I couldn't wait to use it!

We started with my mattress on the floor.  I was extra snuggly and wanted all of my  stuffed animals to join me.

After a few successful nights of sleeping with my mattress on the floor, it was time to get rid of my crib.  I was happy to help use the tools to take the crib apart... until I realized that taking it apart meant it was leaving my room.  I was pretty sad about this. I love spending time in my big boy bed, and I want to sleep in it every night, but I hoped that my crib would stay in my room with me ... forever!

Instead, my parents and I built the headboard and storage bed to go with my mattress.  This made me feel a lot better! Now, I am an official "big boy" in my official "big boy bed!"

It took me a couple of nights in my new bed to realize that I could actually get up and out of it by myself once I woke up.  I scared my parents by showing up in their bedroom at night time.  After a few more days of stumbling out of my room, half asleep, unknowingly giving my best 'Kramer from Seinfeld" exit from my bedroom door, my parents had to put a child proof knob on the inside of my bedroom.  Now, I am back to yelling, "Mom? Dad? Somebody come get me!" when I wake up... and it seems to work perfectly!

Now, my bedroom is one of my favorite places to hang out.  Anytime someone comes to our house, I tell them about it and ask them if they want to come up and see it.  I say, "It has forts (sports) on it... do you want to sleep in here with me?" For some reason, that usually gets a laugh, but I'm happy to show off my big  transition- accomplishment!
