"Reading"... according to Logan!

I have always loved books; lately, I ask my parents to read the books to me over and over again while I listen contently.  Soon enough, I believe that I can 'read' the books, too! I like to read a Batman book, and most recently, I started reading my Cars 2 book. Here is a short clip of me reading to my Mommy:

My First Haircut... According to Tyler!

We waited until after my first birthday to get my haircut for the first time. It was starting to get long on the top, and I had a few little long curls behind my ears and along the back of my neck.  My parents and Logan took me to what my brother calls a "baby haircut store." Daddy held me while Mommy held Logan and took pictures.

I was very calm and didn't make any expressions to let it be known if I was happy or sad. I was just very content and observed as the lady sprayed my hair with cold water, brushed it, and snipped away.

She didn't take too much hair off, but it was enough to make a difference! I think I look a lot more mature! :)

My 1st Birthday Party... According to Tyler!

My parents threw me a big birthday party to celebrate my 1st birthday!!! The theme was sports because I am obsessed with balls; I love throwing them, kicking them, calling them by name and hitting them with a bat or golf club. I am rough and tough and I love playing with the big kids, so it seemed like a perfect theme for my first birthday party.

My parents called me the "Rookie of the Year"... here is the invitation that Mommy made for me:

Party Details:
My big "1" collage of picture from my rookie year!

My dessert table with cupcakes, my smash cake, cookies and suckers!

My personalized coloring pages for the kids to color during the party!

My yummy personalized football and baseball cookies

My smash cake! With my candle and foam-finger-one suckers

A close-up of my yummy cupcakes!

My temporary tattoo station with sponge and directions included!

My time capsule full of notes from my friends and family!

My party favors! Each of my friends got to take home a ball and bat; I hope they think of me when they are playing baseball at home!

The back of my personalized birthday jersey!

The first half of my monthly picture banner ...

The second half of my monthly picture banner!

My friends and family members got to visit the "Concession Stand" for corn dogs, pizza, hot pretzels, nachos, fruit, veggies, peanuts, popcorn and -- my favorite-- Sno Cones!

I was the happiest one-year-old EVER throughout my party! I was excited about every single decoration or toy that I saw. I loved all of the people that came and went to each of them. I spent time with everyone and had fun playing with all the kids. I took turns going inside to cool off and outside to play. Family and friends helped to make sure that my brother and I had a lot to drink and stayed nice and cool!

Tattoos were a big hit at my party! Logan gave tattoos to anyone who was close by, so most kids, aunts, uncles, grandmas and grandpas walked away with sports-themed tattoos!

Cooling off with some water and showing off my very first ever temporary tattoo!

Playing in the sand with the big kids

My Cake Smash!!!
I wore my hat, first birthday shirt and sat in my high chair in front of everyone at the party. I was very patient (and observant of all the smiling faces watching me) as I waited for everyone to sing to me and had my family help blow out the candle.  After one small taste of the frosting, I calmly took another bite.  I thought it tasted delicious, so I decided to lean forward and take a bite of the cake without using my hands! Soon enough, I was elbow-deep in fists of blue and orange frosting. I kept eating until only the cake plate was left and I tossed it onto the ground. I watched it fall and then tried to see if I could get more!

This was my view while I was eating my cake:

I had SO much fun at my party. I got around to see and play with everyone-- old and young!

After my cake smash, I took my dirty clothes off and went inside to cool off for a little bit!

At the end of the party, once most people went home, I got my dirty party clothes off, came inside to cool off and happily went to sleep. I needed my rest after such a fun-filled first birthday!!

The next morning, my brother and I were excited to open up all of my birthday gifts! He taught me how to open them really quickly and was nice enough to show me how to play with each of them, too. I am very grateful for how generous all of my party guests were; I love my new clothes and toys!!
